Workshops for Years 12-13

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) provides an opportunity for students to extend their abilities beyond the A-level syllabus, prepare for university-level study and earn additional UCAS points.

The University of Leeds is keen to support teachers delivering the taught element of the EPQ and hosts an extensive programme of events each year, designed and delivered by experienced academics and researchers.

Details of the EPQ workshops we offer can be found by downloading this guide

Classroom activities and worksheets

The following resources have been developed for both pupils who are studying at A-level and require an introduction to research skills, and those who are in the process of beginning their research for an EPQ.

  • Choosing a topic encourages students to think of potential EPQ topics and helps focus their ideas into a specific research question
These downloads are sample only. Full resource packs can be requested by emailing the Education Outreach Team.  Each pack contains: an overview of  the aims and objectives of the session, brief programme outline and copies of both blank (for pupils) and annotated (for teachers) worksheets for completion during the class. There is flexibility with the resources for pupils to complete the full session or a few of the activities on their own.
